During the Summer of 2007, we contacted Russ regarding information on a property in Indianapolis. At the time, we had sold our primary residence in Connecticut and were traveling cross country to New Mexico. We informed Russ that we would be in Indianapolis during mid-October and would be interested in viewing properties at that time. Russ kept us continually informed of properties that met our initial search criteria. Prior to our whirlwind two(2) day visit to Indianapolis, Russ recommended several nice places for us to stay . Russ scheduled three properties for our first day of house-hunting. Unfortunately, No success due to our house criteria had changed. Russ was very amicable. Russ listened and probed for clarity on our new house hunting criteria. Russ agreed to print some new house listings that were closer matches to our new house criteria for our second day. After the first day, we realized that we had found a "GEM" in Russ ! On our second day , Russ had scheduled a goodly number of home showings. Russ was extremely cordial, hugely understanding and supremely professional in his mannerisms and attitude. Russ and his Midwestern charm, homespun courtesy, and personal warmth had won both of us into feeling Welcome to Indianapolis. During that second day of house hunting, Russ drove us on a circuitous route through many townships and towns. At no time did Russ allow any frustration or discouragement in our home search to creep into his demeanor but rather a quite jovial and fun-loving spirit on our quest. Russ was EXTREMELY considerate of our needs and especially of the property owners home showing requirements. At the end of a Ten hour day of driving, looking, and talking, we signed a purchase agreement on our First Choice property. Russ immediately sent it to the listing realtor. However, since it was the weekend, we did not have a response until Monday. Meanwhile we left Indianapolis to continue our trip. During the following week, we learned that the purchase agreement was not accepted by the First Choice sellers, Therefore, we made an offer on our Second choice property. There was Joy in Mudville! We purchased the Second Choice property. At this time, we were now Remote New Home Owners living in New Mexico. Multiple follow-up Phone Calls, Faxes, and other Contingencies were handled swiftly and admirably by Russ ! Russ had now transformed into our Eyes and Ears (Our Primary Home Buying Negotiator). Russ insured that inspections went well and that all inspection-related repairs were completed satisfactorily. Russ negotiated our Home Purchase deal with aplomb and panache blended well with Honesty and Promptness. We truly enjoyed our two days with Russ Kirk. We would like to say some kind words about Kirk Realty Group. Susan and I looked at approximately 25 houses, and at times it was a stressful process. The first house we found that we wan ted was not at a price that we were willing to pay in this market. We put an offer in, and the sellers would only take list price. Russ Kirk was more than happy to represent me and my interest in acquiring this property for an investment. However, this house turned out to be a good investment for me to plan to live in.
Russ, using his various real estate connections, then recommend a Mortgage broker who was able to acquire financing for me that I couldn't get through a local bank. While this too took some time and had it's share of problems he was in contact with me and the mortgage broker often, to help ensure my questions were being answered and to make sure my interests were being protected through out this transaction. Complications also arose with the other realty company that was handling this property and only through Russ' diligence with them assured me that this deal was staying on track.
